Today marks a significant milestone for this group, and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to every one of you who has been a part of this journey, whether recently or since the very beginning four years ago.
This vibrant community is dedicated to celebrating and supporting the diverse culinary scene in Coos County, and beyond. Serving as a platform where members can share their dining experiences, recommend local eateries, and connect with fellow food enthusiasts.
From a simple idea born out of the challenges of the pandemic to a thriving platform where restaurants advertise their specials, food trucks announce their locations, and patrons share recommendations on favorite establishments, this group has evolved into something one-of-a-kind.
During the beginning stages of COVID-19, the community needed updated information. Spreadsheets detailing which restaurants remained open, offered delivery, and other essential information were created, and updated weekly.
As our community grew stronger, restaurants began offering free meals to children, recognizing that many students were displaced due to school closures. With schools being a primary source of nutrition for over 114,000 students in Oregon, this initiative became a much-needed lifeline for numerous families uncertain about how to provide during so much uncertainty.

Over the past year, our group has seen remarkable engagement, with 39,566 reactions, 6,248 comments, and 4,802 posts shared by our passionate members. In the last 60 days alone, our group has experienced an impressive surge in activity, with 151,522 views and the addition of 1,000 new members, reflecting the growing interest in our culinary community. Notably, a recent post showcasing the delectable egg benedict at Fisherman’s Seafood Market garnered an impressive 67,000+ views, underscoring the impact of our platform in promoting local eateries and inspiring food enthusiasts.
Looking ahead, Coos Foodies is evolving beyond just a Facebook page into a vibrant community hub with an interactive website. Members can now leave recommendations and photos of their favorite dishes, with opportunities for Coos Foodie “Explorers” to win a free meal each month. Stay tuned for more exciting updates as we continue to support local small businesses and foster a community of culinary enthusiasts dedicated to sharing our love for food.

New Name, New Logo, Same Great Community
None of this would have been possible without the support of our incredible community, and I am genuinely excited to see how our website grows and becomes a platform that people are eager to share.
Let’s continue uplifting our community and establishing Coos County as a premier food destination on the Oregon coast.
I look forward to embarking on this next chapter of growth with all of you.
Warm regards,
Stefani Coos Foodies

I remember how scary it was 4 years ago for all our local businesses and kids missing out on school lunches. Thank goodness for your group and your efforts!!
